We all know how reading and story telling benefits language and brain development. We know that it gets those wheels turning with imaginative thoughts and helps children learn about the world around us 🙂 I am always trying to find the hands-on activities that are effective and I have to admit that it has been challenging for me. I teach in Egypt so I was not sure of what I could do with this idea when it first came to my mind but it actually worked out great! These are Thanksgiving stand-ups. I gave the children a simplistic version of the story. They tried re-telling my story but then quickly just decided to start telling their own. Even my matron joined in one of the times, and told her own story. It couldn’t have turned out better 🙂
