December is always a fun time with the kiddos! Here in Egypt, the children don’t really get to see snow, and don’t celebrate Christmas like we do in the states so they have big bright, wondering eyes every time they see a Christmas tree, or a picture of a snowman. We had a lot of fun during the last couple of weeks before the break and we had a nice little party on the last day. The children played musical chairs to Christmas music, and pin the nose on the snowman. They had a snack and got to make little banana snowmen and reindeer crackers.
They loved the decor..they helped with some of it, and get so excited every time they see it 🙂
We also had a board of gingerbread men and wreaths that they made. I didn’t get pictures of everything but we had a nice time.
Merry Christmas to those who celebrate, and Happy New Year!!

FREEBIE! Here’s a fun, free packet for Thanksgiving. 🙂 Get it here, or download it from TPT. Enjoy!
We all know how reading and story telling benefits language and brain development. We know that it gets those wheels turning with imaginative thoughts and helps children learn about the world around us 🙂 I am always trying to find the hands-on activities that are effective and I have to admit that it has been challenging for me. I teach in Egypt so I was not sure of what I could do with this idea when it first came to my mind but it actually worked out great! These are Thanksgiving stand-ups. I gave the children a simplistic version of the story. They tried re-telling my story but then quickly just decided to start telling their own. Even my matron joined in one of the times, and told her own story. It couldn’t have turned out better 🙂
I did these cute pumpkins and ghost with the class last week. I drew them freehand and they had to paint them with their hand prints, no brushes. It is a simple idea but they loved it! ❤
